Invitation to the 2013 Minnetonka Technology Institute February 21-22 & June 28, 2013

You are invited to the 8th Annual 2013 Minnetonka Technology Institute and 2nd Annual Summer iPad Technology Institute. You may choose one or more of the following days:
1.    District-Wide Technology Visit: Thursday, February 21, 2013
2.    1:1 iPad High School Visit: Friday, February 22, 2013
3.    Summer iPad Technology Institute: Friday, June 28, 2013
See firsthand how technology serves as an accelerator of learning and hear how Minnetonka Public Schools effectively integrates technology into everyday activities E-12.   Join teachers, instructional leaders and technology staff from around the region for an in-depth, behind-the scenes tour to see the power of technology and discuss innovation in instruction.  To learn more about Technology in Minnetonka, check out our Technology Articles and Videos ( http://www.minnetonka.k12.mn.us/administration/technology/videos/Pages/default.aspx ).

Each visitor Thursday, February 21, will choose two schools to tour (Elementary, Middle, and/or the High School).  Friday's visit on February 22 will be on site at Minnetonka High School all day to focus on the 1:1 iPad pilot ( http://www.minnetonka.k12.mn.us/administration/technology/iPads ) with all 1,600 grade 9 & 10 students. There will be breakout sessions after the tours both days to learn more and ask questions.  Bus transportation between schools on Thursday, as well as a light breakfast, snacks and lunch both days will be provided. Early bird registration prices are in effect until 1/31/13.

Attendees of the Summer iPad Institute on June 28 will learn how iPads are successfully used in a 1:1 environment by all 1,600 grade 9 & 10 students at Minnetonka High School. In-depth background information on everything from the planning, budget, and communication of the pilot program to the training, implementation, and findings will be shared. You will have the opportunity to hear from district staff as well as ten high school classroom teachers and some students about how iPads are used daily in teaching and learning. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
