Gmail-Turn on notifications in Gmail


Turn on notifications in Gmail
  1. Open Gmail and click Settings settings > Settings.
  2. Scroll down to Desktop notifications and select New mail notifications on or Important mail notifications on (if you use Priority Inbox).
  3. Click Save Changes.
Note: Notifications appear on Chrome, Mozilla® Firefox®, and Apple® Safari® when you're signed in to Gmail and have it open.

  1. In Calendar, go to Settings settings > Settings.
  2. On the left under Settings for my calendars, click your name and go to General notifications.
  3. In the Daily Agenda field, click the Down arrow arrow_drop_down next to None and select Email.

  1. In Gmail, compose your message.
  2. At the bottom of the Compose window, click More more_vert > Request read receipt.
  3. Click Send. You’ll get a notification email when your message is opened.
Note: If you can’t create Read receipts, contact your G Suite administrator.

Automatically label and sort incoming messages
  1. In the Gmail search box, click the Down arrow arrow_drop_down.
  2. Enter your search criteria, then click Create filter.
  3. Check the Apply the label box and choose a label to automatically sort incoming messages fitting your search criteria.
  4. If you’d like messages fitting your search criteria to be automatically moved out of your inbox, but want to be able to access them later, check the Skip the Inbox (Archive it) box.
  5. Click Create filter.

  1. In Gmail, click the gear icon in the upper right hand corner and choose  Settings.
  2. In the General tab, scroll down to Signature and click the button next to the text box.
  3. Type your signature, and use the format toolbar to add font styles, colors, images, links, and more.
  4. Select the insert image icon
  5. Paste the following URL in the field https://www.sayreschool.org/uploaded/Photos/Logo/Sayre_clr_email.jpg?1555591180261
  6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and Click Save Changes.

Yosemite and iTunes 12.8.1 update breaks Safari

If you are still running Yosemite and suddenly your Safari no longer works, there is an iTunes updare that breaks Safari. 

After updating to iTunes 12.8.1, some users have encountered the following error message when opening Safari on OS X Yosemite:Safari cannot be opened because of a problem.

Changes to the Google sign-in


Starting November 27th, 2018, Google will make some small changes to the appearance of the Google sign-in page. Specifically, you might notice outlines around some entry fields, and changes to the spacing and styling of other text on both the web and mobile screens. The changes will start to take effect on November 27th and may take up to two weeks to reach all users.
