Tech Tuesday - PLNs

If you were unable to attend the scheduled Tech Tuesday session yesterday I have posted my notes below.

What is a PLN – Personal Learning Network
A PLN is a combination of tools that use social media to collect, communicate, collaborate and create with others with whom you share professional interests.
My PLN is a combination of Twitter, Google+ and Yahoo or (/feedly/symbaloo)

Blogs
Subscribe to many, good for inspiration and ideas- takes 10 minutes or less to read the headlines-keeps one abreast of issues

Google+
Join many, very good for direct questions – i.e. what is a good site for explaining binary numbers?

Twitter
Very popular way for teachers to have access to information
basics-put your picture out there, follow a few people and they will follow you, it is ok to lurk and just listen to conversations, jump in when you are ready.
